Instructional Coaching

Instructional Coaching is a job-embedded professional development model provided for teachers at every elementary school. Instructional Coaches are highly qualified elementary teachers who collaborate with classroom teachers to improve student learning through coaching.

Instructional Coaches work with teachers on an element of instructional practice (improvement of decoding, comprehension, vocabulary, etc) selected by the classroom teacher. Coaches partner in cycles during the school year and coteach with classroom teachers 3-4 times a week. Tiem is also dedicated to planning and reflecting on lessons.

Instructional Coaches also provide targeted intervention services to low achieving students with the goal of achieving grade level. Grades served range between first-third with all coaches serving the same grade across the district.
