Academies of Dearborn at Fordson News

As we continue to implement the Academies model to promote education with a purpose, we are assisting students in focusing dual enrollment opportunities.  Here’s a neat article about a 2019 Fordson graduate who earned an IT certificate as a dual enrollment student in high school. It’s very cool that her and her brother are working together for secure 24 now.   Here is a Henry Ford College article highlighting this story.

Fordson Feeder Literacy Pop-up

Oakman Elementary School was the first site for the Fordson Feeder Literacy Pop-up. The next stop is William Ford on June 26th from 9:30-11:30am.

Emergency Drill-this is a practice event-OL Smith MS on June 19th

Dearborn Public Schools, in conjunction with Dearborn Police and other community partners, will hold an emergency training drill on June 19.  This year’s exercise will be at O.L. Smith Middle School.

Please help us spread the word about this event so community members know not to be alarmed if they see emergency vehicles and other unusual activity around the school next week.

In conjunction with the drill, we are launching a prepared parent campaign.  The attached flyer includes information to help parents understand how they should respond before and during any lockdown situation.
